Generally considered dogkind's finest all-purpose worker, the German Shepherd Dog is a large, agile, muscular dog of noble character and high intelligence. Loyal, confident, courageous, and steady, the German Shepherd is truly a dog lover's delight. There are many reasons why German Shepherds stand in the front rank of canine royalty, but experts say their defining attribute is character: loyalty, courage, confidence, the ability to learn commands for many tasks, and the willingness to put their life on the line in defense of loved ones.
Our pups are potty trained to go in a potty tray or use their doggy door to go potty outside. Since they are trained to go on pine pellets, you can place the pellets where you want them to go at your house. This greatly reduces confusion and speeds up the possess for you and the puppy!
At Five Pines Farm, we know that what we do with your puppies while they are in our care will impact them throughout the rest of their lives. ENS is a series of gentle, short term simulations and manipulations applied to puppies to improve their neurological system and stress responses. This can help the puppies develop "robustness" and prepare them to deal with stressors later in life. It can also improve performance of working dogs. Benefits of ENS include improved cardiovascular performance, stronger heart beats, more tolerance to stress and greater resistance to disease.
ESI is a procedure that helps the puppies develop their sense of smell and confidence. ESI involves exposing the puppies to a variety of scents during a critical decelopmental period of their life. This procedure enhances their ability to identify and react to scents throughout thier life. Benefits of ESI include improving a puppies brain development, memory, immune system and also stress responses.
This is a major part of our program that will aid in the transition of your puppy into your home and benefit them throughout their lives. We play sounds throughout the day such as fireworks, thunderstorms, crying babies, vacuum cleaners and much more. This will expose the puppies to sounds that could cause stress and teaches them how to control their reactions. We also start their grooming routine so that they are used to getting baths, brushed, blow dried and nails clipped. Our puppies also interact with us and also family and friends on a daily basis during play time.
We strive to start all our pups on a routine schedule of crate time, play time, music time and meal time. This will help them have an easier time transitioning into their furever home. You will receive their schedule info in your puppy paperwork to take home with you!
